Music & Arts

He paid a debt He did not owe because we owed a debt we could not pay .
It is our prayer that our music ministry contributes to the Faith UMC Mission:
Develop Devoted Disciples through a meaningful encounter with Jesus Christ.

Faith UMC offers two distinctly different Sunday Morning Worship Services.

9:00am: Traditional Worship , with Sanctuary Choir leading familiar hymns, features special music consisting of choir anthems, solos and ensembles. Some traditional liturgies are used in this service.

11:15am : Contemporary Worship is more casual in style. Faith Praise Band leads exuberant Praise and Worship music. Video projection for lyrics, illustrations and visual impact contribute to this Worship experience.

There are many opportunities available to use your musical talent in the ministries at Faith. Vocalists as well as instrumentalists are needed in the choir, praise band and/or for special music.

Sanctuary Choir is open to anyone who loves to sing.
Praise band members are selected by audition.
Solos and/or ensembles are always a welcome addition to our services.

Children’sMusical activities are a regular part of WWF (Wonderful Wednesday Fellowship) during the school year and for special events in the summer. Children of all ages participate in special music for our Sunday morning Worship services as well as presenting Musical/Dramas at Christmas and Easter (or sometime in the spring). Other musical activities such as caroling occur throughout the year.

Children’s music begins each Wed. at 6:30pm.
Choir practice, also on Wed. is at 7:15
Praise Band rehearsals are on Thurs. at 6:30

Our Praise Band also ministers with the Wesley Foundation at WKU when school is in session.

The Faithsprouts, for children ages 2-5, is under the direction of Sharon Dillard. This group meets during children's activity time on Wednesday evenings.

Two Children's Bells Choirs provide opportunities for young children to contribute to the worship service in a meaningful way. The Kristal Bell Method uses colors to help ringers know which bell to play when. The simple system is easy to learn and produces quick success so that visiting children may join the group on Sunday morning.

The Youth Signing group practices using sign language to enhance the presentation of music in the worship service.

The Drama Team is open to all ages. They present skits during the worship service that provide a message to the congregation. The Drama Team practices on Wednesday evenings.
